Timberline Vodka

The scope is an outdoor cocktail shoot, but the weather’s dark, cold, and raining? No problem!

We brought the outdoors inside for Hood River Distillers and Timberline Vodka! I think back on this shoot fondly because we mixed outdoor and indoor environments to create a cohesive brand vision for Hood River Distillers and Sandstrom Partners. The team was firing on all 8 cylinders and this is definitely one of my favorite shoots I’ve had in my career.

Considering January’s cold rain and limited daylight, the option of shooting on location anytime soon was off the table. Pitching the idea of shooting both in-studio and on-location, the plan was to create our own scenes with complete control of our variables.

Cocktail Heros were shot first in studio, bottle Heros were shot outdoors on the soonest clear day. All of us on the team brought in a bit of their backyard woods into Coolhand Studio and we built a dozen sets with completely different set dressing and unique lighting for each deliverable.

We needed to span the four seasons, night and day to create evergreen content that looks like we’re enjoying those cozy campfire vibes. Ashley Marti and John Henry on point with props and drink styling, they inspired my lighting to create believable scenes that marry perfect with the bottle assets photographed outdoors.
